About

Accessibility

Everyone should be able to learn here, whatever their device, ability or connection speed.

Our aim

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We test with keyboard navigation and automated accessibility checks, and we welcome reports of anything that gets in your way.

What we have built in

  • Semantic headings, landmarks and lists, and a "Skip to main content" link
  • Full keyboard access, with a clearly visible focus outline on every interactive element
  • Form fields with labels, and feedback announced to screen readers
  • Quiz and activity feedback that never relies on colour alone: icons and text always explain the result
  • Arabic text marked with the correct language and right-to-left direction, so it is pronounced and displayed properly
  • Text contrast designed to meet or exceed AA requirements, and layouts that adapt from small phones to large screens
  • Reduced motion: if your device asks for less motion, animations are switched off
  • No autoplaying audio or video, and no third-party tracking scripts
  • Extra detail placed in expandable sections, so pages are not overwhelming

Known limitations

  • Qur'anic Arabic uses a specialised script; some older screen readers may read diacritics inconsistently.
  • Audio recitation is not yet available.
  • The interface is currently in English only. The content model is designed to support Arabic and other languages in future.
